A new community-based coffee shop in Canton, Stitch Coffee, opened its doors Feb. 21st. It is owned by Dave and Geralyn Hickey, who previously ran The Coffee Potter in New Jersey. The shop’s name is inspired by Canton’s denim and cotton mill history while reflecting its mission to “stitch” the community closer together.
Canton City Manager Billy Peppers emphasized the city’s commitment to supporting small businesses. It provides new businesses with marketing assistance and development resources workshops through the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Kennesaw State University’s Small Business Development Center.
