The Trans Liberation Basketball League, an Atlanta-based group for transgender and nonbinary athletes, kicked off its third season on Saturday, Sept. 28. The league started in summer 2023 and provides a safe space for transgender athletes to play sports without judgment.

Transgender athletes in sports are a controversial topic in politics right now, with Republicans across the nation, even in Georgia, passing legislation banning transgender players from competing in mainstream sports.
